These are all of the people who have helped us out with this event!
We love Bawls. We got Bawls. And we seldom tire of making Bawls puns.
No LAN center would be complete without an ample abundance of blue Bawls and we’re thrilled to boast those blue Bawls proudly. They were kind enough to send us some stuff that’ll end up in the SWAG bags and the raffle. Three cheers for Bawls! (We trust you to cheer three times.)
The mission of BAWLS is to manufacture a highly caffeinated premium portfolio of beverages utilizing only quality ingredients and exclusive packaging. To provide fuel, refreshment and flavor while inspiring memorable moments to our existing fans, and everyday striving to reach the grip of new fans. To provide growth and enrichment to our employees and business partners by conducting business with integrity, fairness and honesty.
Now it might be a little surprising to see Common Era on this list, considering that they’re a super cool lady’s clothing shoppe. Then again, it’s not at all surprising considering that they’re super cool in EVERY respect and absolutely love to help out with local and community related what have yous. (Just like us and just like us!)
One of our very own regulars and dear friends is an employee with Common Era and was assigned the task of designing some nifty video-gaming inspired accessories (more like wallets and cigarette holders, not like controllers) for our raffle. We have no idea how these are going to turn out, but are THRILLED to see the results.
Ladies (and men who buy for ladies) should really give them a looksee.
One of the most amazing computer-related publications we’ve ever read and one which we are supremely proud to carry each new monthly issue in store. They’ve offered to send us enough print copies of their December issue to put in each and every SWAG bag of those attending the anniversary.
Seriously folks, if you’ve ANY interest at all in computers, hardware, software, freeware utilities, cool mods, and various other computer-related tidbits, this is a must read.
Modest game blog cum modern game news/entertainment behemoth, Destructoid has long been an indirect influence in the lives of at least one of the Game On! crew. From scathing editorials, fun features, and a focus on community and highlighting blogs from its readers, they’re as by and for and about gamers as a site can be.
Honestly, this one’s kinda’ funny. They were putting together some stuff to send to us for LAST YEAR’S anniversary event, but it didn’t get here until something like January. We kept meaning to slowdrip the contents of that box of stuffs over various events throughout the year, but never really got around to it.
So, why not just give a bunch of it away at this year’s raffle?! Because no reason at all, so we’re doing it!
Gearbox Software
We’re supposed to keep this one kinda’ under the radar, so we’ll just say that they’ve provided some cool stuff that’ll add nicely to the raffle.
Thank you Gearbox.
These cats were originally called “Game On” which was this big to-do at the time. But they’re real friendly folk, and we like ‘em just fine, and everything got resolved okay, so why the heck not become best friends?
(Well, because every single member of every single one of our staffs never really has the time for the most active of social lives, and nobody wants the drama of long-distance best-friendship. But other than that!)
They’re throwing in a few gift cards to their store, which has a significant selection of titles and pretty much every system you could care about. That should definitely appeal to any gamers who might be reading this. Anybody? Anybody here like dem vidja games?
If you don’t know ThinkGeek, then shame on you. They’re only the hyper-dorkiest merchandise retailer known to anybody ever. It doesn’t matter WHO you are, you will be able to find at least one thing that you think amazing and outrageous on ThinkGeek.
So we guess it’s pretty cool that they’re sending us some gift cards, eh?
They’re some of our newest friends, and they live right down the street!
Troll Country does quite a lot. Miniatures, table-top, board, Magic, D&D, you name it. Seriously, name something. If there isn’t already a night for you to come out and play it, they’ll probably make it happen. Also, we’ve been led to understand that they can order pretty much anything you might be looking for (in the appropriate context of course, we’re not talking black market organs here).
What’s more, they’ve made it possible for us to have some of that above-mentioned stuff running for the duration of the anniversary!
Plus they might be throwing some things into the raffle. Where does it end?!
Never heard of ‘em.
Oh. Wait. No. They’re only responsible for so many of THE GREATEST THINGS.
Valve has been very kind to us over the years. From the number of first-party titles they make available on their Cybercafe license (and the sheer bulk of third-party titles they’ve amassed) to all of the stuff they’ve sent along for promotion and previous events – not to mention that they’ve made some of our favourite titles and are currently working on DotA 2 – we’re pretty enamored of the lovely people over at Valve.
We’re not yet certain what they’ll be sending along but, considering the cool factor of their merchandise, there’s no doubt that it’ll be good.
Novelty shop. Collectible shop. Costume shop. Game shop. Comic shop. The Wizard wears a lot of hats and this is quite clear if you’ve ever spent any time in his chest. There’s not much that any card-carrying geek/nerd/dork/awesomenaut couldn’t find in even the most casual of strolls through this store.
These guys were kind enough to sponsor our Halloween Party costume contest and will be making a contribution to the anniversary as well. What, exactly, remains a mystery~
(Be mystified!)
