These are all of the (non-tournament) contests. They’re still super awesome, and they still have prizes, but you don’t have to pay anything to enter. Wha~at?
Trivia w/ Taylor
We’ve only had him a few times (and would love to have him more~), but Taylor has sufficiently demonstrated that he is a quizmaster PRO. With a format that’ll put you in stitches and questions that’ll really wrinkle your brain and try your chops, you can be sure that Taylor’s trivia event is NOT TO BE MISSED.
(Also, we hope he has a better name for it than this terrible one we came up with.)
You’ll work in teams of (up to) four to answer questions and then you’ll receive points and then people with more points than other peoples’ points will win the whole thing!
Time: 12:00 PM (Sunday)
Prize:
1st place team – $50 gift certificate to ThinkGeek (for each team member)
2nd place team – Four pre-chosen faux-retro carts from 72pins.com (entire team)
3rd place team – Sixteen packs of collectible Lego minifigures (entire team)
Frenetic Fallout Marathon
Folks who attended our first year’s anniversary might remember the crazy, out-of-the-blue, sleeper hit that was Crossfire. Somehow the nostalgia and the energy and the spectator sport of it all came together in such a way to make it.. well, pretty much the greatest thing ever. Last year, timecrunch prevented us from including Hungry Hungry Hippos (the spiritual successor), so we decided to make it up to both games by escalating things a touch and including that much more. This will be a several game marathon that sees opponents eliminated at each stage, culminating in a tense mystery game showdown.
Times: 4:00 PM (Saturday) / 1:00 PM (Sunday)
Prizes:
1st – First pick of two of the following four games (donated by The Wizard’s Chest)
2nd – Second pick of one game
3rd – Last remaining game

Costume Contest
Please dress up. Seriously, please dress up. We- love- costumes. We love ‘em so much. We love seeing people all adorned in the dress of one of their favourite characters. It’s the kind of passion and interest that really stokes the coals of our engines. So, even if there wasn’t a costume contest, we’d want you to dress up anyways!
Oh, but there is a costume contest. If you like, you can also do it for the prize.
Time: Saturday (ongoing)
Winners’ Announcement: 8:00 PM (Saturday)
Prize: $30 gift card to (and a totally rad foam sword from) The Wizard’s Chest
Minecraft Wonders
Did you know that we have a Minecraft server? Well we do! (Go check out one of our transparency posts to read a little bit about the road to how that happened and why it took so freaking long – but that can wait.)
We invite and encourage our community to join us on our server and build homes and cities and monuments and statues and spires and transportation systems and overworlds and all kinds of cool things. Really, build to your heart’s content. We want to see you there. We want to see a world populated by the communal content of our friends.
And, on this particular occasion, we’d like to make a contest out of it.
You have from now until Nov. 16th (the Wednesday prior to the anniversary) to hop onto our server, devise and build some element of game-related awesome, and show it to us (GameOnDenver@Gmail.com). We’ll use our (as yet completely undetermined) criteria to judge why your piece of awesome is better or worse than somebody else’s piece of awesome.
We will then be racked with guilt for weeks.
Time: Present – Nov. 16th
Server: “x.gameondenver.com”
