So there’s this lady that’s married to this guy, and together they own this here store. They both deserve some credit, but today we’re gonna’ focus on the lady, likely to her embarrassment (we can only hope).
By the way, this is something of a rogue “newspost”, so please be sure to tell Robyn (and Ashly Burch) I loved her when you inevitably find my cold, dead body.
Anna (Sleepykit) is, as mentioned above, one of the three founding members of “Game On!” as well as one half of the marriage what composes the financial/executive backbone of this triumvirate. She’s never been the biggest or most hardcore gamer, but she certainly enjoys playing her fair share of titles, and often shows enthusiasm in watching others play engaging titles with rich stories. Due to the fact that she lacks the near-encyclopedic knowledge of video game history that most others who enter this store possess, it’s unfortunate that she should sometimes feel left out of conversations or interests.
Just the same, her support and dedication to a store, customer base, and community with which she does not 100% identify is a most commendable thing, and what better day to acknowledge her contributions than on the anniversary of her birth?

Before “Game On!” / After “Game On!”
That’s right. Mrs. Anna Nelson was born some numbers of years ago, today. I’m being told that it was in 1985, which would make her twenty-four years old, but this information comes from her husband; hardly a reliable source.
You may not know it, but she is an ENORMOUS part of this business, while conversely one of the least visible members. Without her, we would not be where we are today, and many elements of our behind-the-scenes activities would be without a willing or capable person at the helm. She was the one responsible for acquiring all of our business and tax licenses (which allow us to legally say “give us all your money”), as well as the site and commercial licenses (the ones that let us offer you games without getting sued by the big boys). A good chunk of the scripting that went into making our LAN work at all is due to her (e.g. non-Steam profile information that follows you from PC to PC), and that’s the kind of job that proves to be a consistent, tiring effort. PC repair tickets are handled by either her or Brian, and our bills wouldn’t get paid if she didn’t pay ‘em (we, however, are conscientious objectors where giving our creditors money is concerned).
All this while she and her husband still work a full-time, REAL job downtown. All this on top of a normal grind. Plus she has to put up with all of our crazy shenanigans, which is, really, the kind of thing nobody should have to suffer.
So here’s to Anna! Just a little bit older than she was before!

Seriously, happy birthday. We love you.
(This is the best recent picture of her that I have available. That oughta’ learn her some for always running away from pictureboxes!)
