So, we figured that since the majority of you are such fine and colourful people, you wouldn’t want to spend the 4th of July playing games at the store with us. Quite frankly, this hurts our feelings and we’re not too sure we’ll ever get over it. Sure, barbecues and swimming pools and volleyball are all okay, but wouldn’t you rather be getting your game on?
(See what I did there?)
Alright, alright fine. We understand. Chances are it’s going to be a beautiful day and festivities will be held by many a group of family and friends. That’s perfectly reasonable. So let us offer you this instead:
On Saturday, July 4th, we will open – as we normally do – at 10:00 a.m., but will not close again until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Oh yes, you read those words right my hawk-eyed friends; “Game On!” will not be closing AT ALL this Saturday night, just in case you want to swing by and join us for some all-night gaming after you’re done with your daytime activities. With any luck, we can fill to capacity and have some epic, local fragfests.
By the way, DWMagus has been doing some hunting and found more than a few interesting mods/maps for both Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead. Interested in recreating the L4D No Mercy rooftop scene in TF2? How about escorting a Half-Life Strider in a TF2 payload match? Or you could try out the new custom Left 4 Dead map that starts in a prison and winds up – get this – on a boat.
Let me also take this opportunity to remind you that Sleepykit and DWMagus recently got our forums up and running just a few days ago, and they’re already starting to hop (not literally, of course – it’s a virtual environment, silly). Be sure to click that convenient little “Forums” link right up top to check things out.
Welcome to July, folks.
